Vail

Welcome to Vail

Like No Place on Earth.”  There is a reason it is number one time and time again. From its sheep farm past, Vail has grown into a world-renowned resort and one of the largest ski resorts in the world with 5,317 skiable acres surrounded by 350,000 acres of National Forest.

The ski town was created by the founders of Vail, who trained for WWII ski warfare at nearby Camp Hale. After gaining popularity as a ski destination, appreciation for all seasons soon followed. As the locals say:  “I came for the winters, but stayed for the summers.”

Botanical gardens adjacent to the open-air Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater serve as a stunning background to showcase the Vail International Dance Festival & Bravo! Music festival, among other talents. The variety of summertime activities is endless. Vail shares the joy of nature with millions.
